           XEVIOUS     Beta1

           NGH 420

 This is a 68K transcode of
 the arcade game Xevious
 released by Namco in 1983.

 The core is a line-by-line
 translation of the Z80
 assembler code in the MAIN
 and SUB CPU ROMs. Every
 nuance and every bug is
 faithfully replicated in
 the transcode. The graphics
 and palette have been
 ripped as-is from the
 arcade ROMs for use in this
 version.

 The core itself is platform
 agnostic and can be ported
 to other 68K systems with a
 well defined API.

 The Neo Geo version supports
 high score load & save on
 both BRAM and memory card.

 Arcade dipswitches are
 supported via the soft DIPs.

This archive contains builds for:
* MAME MVS (masquerading as puzzledp.zip)
* NeoSD
* NGCD (iso)
* Darksoft MultiMVS

It is also possible to build the chd and run on neocdz
in MAME, masquerading as joyjoy.

From Darksoft:
"To play the game, it requires to have the latest Firmware
and have the files placed in one of the Homebrew folders."

Known issues in Beta1:

* 'Sparklies' on the screen at all times

* It's possible some flying enemies are destroyed when
  they didn't actually get hit by Solvalou bullets?

* Sound is WIP and needs reallocation of channels.
  currently the Andor Genesis rumbling sound will
  mute the Solvalou tune.

* Some sounds/tunes do not play sometimes.

Any and all feedback on the beta, especially bug reports
is most welcome.
