I am a huge fan of A-Ha the pop group from Norway and it thought it would be a fitting tribute to such a great band. I wasn't sure what to make, but I had this idea about escaping from a sewer and Sewer Escape was born. I understand Spectrum Basic and I have been using VBA for years so I thought it was about time to learn machine code. I bought all the books and started to learn a little bit at a time. Life got in the way and when I went back to it, it was all forgotten. Next I decided to use Jonathan Cauldwell's MPAGD. This got as far as the an unanimated graphic for the main character and 1 room. It was around this time that I saw a new game designer being created called KWYLL. This program was created by Paul Gregory of Driller fame. I got the software, joined the Discord channel and started my game. Many months later, here it is written entirely using KWYLL. All the GFX are created in KWYLL. This game is my tribute to an icon of the 80s and a voice that I still enjoy every week. I have every album on CD and every album they released on vinyl. If you have never listed to or heard of A-Ha then I urge you to open your Spotify account and listen to it all. With songs like Hunting High and Low, Summer moved on and of course Take on me. Who could not enjoy his voice and the music. I created this game but I have to give credit to my best friend Gary Deane. We have been friends since 1983 when we got our first rubber keyed Spectrums. We help and inspire each other with everything retro and without our friendship this game probably would never have been created. So his name is next to mine and we are the people who created Sewer Escape.
